I am replacing the thermal paste on my PC as the current one is completely chapped and dried. It is my first time doing it. Can anyone guide me on the what is the best method for applying thermal paste for my CPU?

If you want to put thermal paste on your CPU, the pea-sized dot method is the best way. Just add a tiny amount of paste to the center of the CPU. When the cooler is attached, it distributes the paste to make sure heat is exchanged efficiently. Most Intel and AMD CPUs can benefit from using this method. Put just a little paste on the wick, or you might end up with overheating or a mess. Methods such as the line and X pattern can be useful, particularly when the CPU is big.
