Turn iMessage off and on again from Settings > Messages. Sign out of your Apple ID and sign back in (Settings > your name > Sign Out). Restart your phone after doing that. If it still doesn’t work, wait a few hours — sometimes Apple’s servers are just slow to activate iMessage.
