How do I fix black vertical lines on monitor?

I am seeing long and thin black vertical lines on my monitor. Can I fix it on my own?

First, try restarting your PC and check if the cable’s loose — that’s the most common cause.

If that doesn’t work:

• Try a different cable or port.
• Connect the monitor to another PC (or vice versa) to see if it’s the monitor or the computer.
• If the lines show up even in the monitor’s menu, it’s probably a hardware issue.

Sometimes it’s just a bad cable. Other times, sadly, the screen’s going bad.
